GEORGIA AND ARMENIA
The Caucasus team is made of two different countries, Armenia and Georgia. These two groups are unique and not like any other people groups in the world. They are non-Slavic but have close relationships with Russia and Ukraine and Europe. Armenia was the earliest country to accept Christianity as a state religion in 301 A.D. Although Georgia and Armenia are neighbors, there are many differences between these two people groups. They have their own languages and alphabet. They have their own customs and traditions. They have different foods. They do share history and being controlled and ruled over by Russia (pre-USSR) and the Soviet Union. They both are a warm and hospitable people who welcome strangers and make them honored guests in their home. They are both Orthodox Christian countries (Armenia is actually Apostolic). Armenia and Georgia are very ethnocentric and nationalistic countries.

Work in Georgia:
Work in Georgia is just beginning. There are only a few Chrisitian workers in Georgia and a large need. Of the few Christian workers only a handful are doing any sort of evangelical work and church planting.

Work in Armenia:
The Armenian people are open to the Gospel and are ready to accept Christ when they hear the Good News. Several church plants have been started in the capital city of Yerevan and even more in the cities and villages around the country. There is an established national team that is motivated by love to reach their own people for Christ.
